Both of them have voices uncannily like Chinese singing legend Teresa Deng's.
It is not surprsing therefore that fans of either would try to compare them to see who is the better.
Like in the video below.
However, it is unprofitable - nor desirable - to label one as an imitator and the other the genuine article.
Both of them sing Teresa Deng's songs out of a love for their idol.
Who are we to judge that one is just an imitator and the other not?
Chen Jia has loved Teresa Deng for as long or longer as LangGa Lamu.
LangGa Lamu since from very young too.
Both happen to be able to sing Teresa Deng's songs like they own them and happen to have voices sounding close to Teresa Deng's.
But no one will ever have the exact same voice as Teresa Deng's. Nor sing exactly the way she sang.
Does that diminish either?
Are we looking for a Teresa Deng clone?
Each has her own strengths and weaknesses.
Both are lovely to listen to. We should thank the divine that they are not clones of the diva.
Each has her own distinctive singing style and the way they express their interpretation of Teresa Deng's songs.
We can debate till kingdom come or the cows come home and yet nobody will be able to convince fans of either that one is 'better' and the other is not.
I enjoy Chen Jia and LangGa Lamu and I say power to both!
You like whom you like.
But none of the pettiness, please!
